effortless anthroposophy

Matthew 18: 3 etc. "I assure you, if you don't turn round and become like children, you'll never get into the kingdom of the skies.  So whoever brings himself down to the level of this child, that's who the greatest in the kingdom of the skies is...."

"concentration without effort" (Tomberg's Meditations on the Tarot, Arcanum I: The Magician)

"If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him".  Zen Koan.

"Silly" in the 11th Century meant "blessed".

Those who went to see Tomberg in his '60's were often frustrated, because the harder they sought serious discussion, the more he acted the complete buffoon.  In his Mediations on the Tarot (again), the Arcanum The Fool, was also the Arcanum on Love.

Steiner's sculpture, The Representative of Humanity, has a strange figure in the upper left quadrant, "Cosmic Humor".  It seems to be just a face with what appears like giant wings for ears.

living thinking, to experience, is effortless.  since we have gotten our egotism out of the way (through renunciation and love), "it can think in us", and "it" is fluid, spontaneous, and child-like in its dance.  further, "it" wants to have us lead the shared play and dance, so that our freedom is never restrained and always enhanced. "it" is the perfect "dance and play partner"

don't push the river...

Heavy Love, dude - Like far out, man

"Love is my weight"

                                        -----  Augustine of Hippo

You know - referring to the concept from ancient physics....Rocks fall to the ground because they are trying to be like the ground (that's where they belong - they are Earth Weighted)...Fire rises to the heavens because that's where it belongs (trying to be like the stars since they are made out of fire - it is Heaven weighted).

When love is our weight (when our actions are Love Weighted) they take us in whatever direction our love goes...light as a feather...or so that other, Egyptian analogy goes.

That's odd...Come to think of it...I think I have always been at my best when I was just being silly.

silly etymology

"'Silly' in the 11th Century meant 'blessed'": Do you have a source for this claim? The OED doesn't seem to confirm it. Just curious, thanks.

Happy Silly

Looks to me like one of the original meanings was "happy" which is close in meaning... e.g. "blessed are the poor in spirit" is also often translated as "happy are the poor in spirit".
