See their website (currently under reconstruction) at http://www.clubofbudapest.org/wwc.php for an impressive cast of participants.

This video came to my attention from The Collective Wisdom Initiative, which houses a treasure store of links, contacts and informative articles.

The World Calls

"We must wake up." "The civilization that we have created is no longer viable.  Therefore it has to change."

At the beginning of this new century the world is looking for answers. Rudolf Steiner gave us The Philosophy of Freedom, anthroposophical community, and contemplative conversation. Was this presented at the World Wisdom Council?

Think if we had sent a representative to speak and present papers on topics such as contemplative conversation designed to bring about collective wisdom? Do we send them a copy of Majorie Spocks Art of Conversation, a copy of The Philosophy of freedom, or a copy of Awakening to Community? I don't think so.

These materials need to be redone in a way they could be of use to the world.

To that end I, and some others, are  beginning to work on a new POF study course that would be of use to a normal world citizen.

It seems like the website is being caught up in Steinerism. A role of being the keepers of truth to what Rudolf Steiner really meant. Isn't that the justifiable role of the Anthroposophical Society and Goetheanum? Everyone can define their own role and purpose. For myself, especially after becoming aware of this world movement toward collective wisdom, I am inspired to move away from the Steinerism and Society debate and toward finding ways to present Steiner's ideas in a way relevant for today. Steiner suggested POF be re-written in a hundred years which is now, so he saw how things need to be updated according to current times.
The world calls.

I agree with you.  Let's

I agree with you.  Let's focus on creativity out of ourselves.  The recent stuff about the GAS posted here seems such a waste of time.

PoF for all the World

I would hope PoF would one day be of assistance to people the world over, regardless of race or religion.  The world needs PoF, but it has to be done in the right way, with the right intention.  Rewriting PoF would require someone with not only a thorough knowledge and experience of the book, but someone who has developed the heart-thinking that Steiner emphasized as so important to the understanding not only PoF, but all of Spiritual Science as well.  Someone with the respect and love for Anthroposophia which Steiner himself had.

Love,

POF wiki

I think presenting POF to the world may require diverse contributions and maybe even setting up a POF wiki where people could submit an assortment of things that relate to a particular section of POF. This may be the solution itself.

I was planning to set up a POF wiki anyway as a means for others to contribute usefull resources such as examples of POF in the world, useful references to other Steiner quotes that expand on POF topics, pictures, video, and anything else that may help putting together a study course.

I have already checked and am sure the new study course will qualify as credit for many teacher training programs which require a course on POF.
