many parts to chapter two , lots to take in, lets try and finish it, although its a lifetime to study it.

I had geared up to finish chapter two here today, but arrived at the internet cafe without the book, or my notes. so I will just go by memory, and then refer to my notes next time.

it seems there are three paths leading to ones developement of clairvoyance.

One can practice these all simultaneously.

       1. observing growth and decay regularly which I presume means at the same time of day, daily.

       2. training yourself to hear sounds objectively , letting them resonate in your soul, trying to feel what is behind the sound, without judging, especially sounds which are not harmonious for you.

    3. acknowledging that thoughts are real and developing listening skills, where you consciously listen to what people are saying without jumping in with all your points of view.

Thanks jennyren moving on.

Dear jennyren,

Finishing chapter 2.  The exercise of visualizing another person's longing in order to understand their inner soul state, is proving to be quite a beautiful exercise.  Also the exercise of listening to sounds with our inner ear is also quite remarkable.   Of course, Steiner says we should "know to be silent about your spiritual perceptions,"  so I will keep my experience to myself.

The observing growth and decay exercise has now become a part of daily living, so I find I need no specific time to practice this exercise, as that just in daily life one is now noticing this occuring all around one.

This is proving to be a most beautiful study, so thank you for taking on the task to be our moderator.  The devotion and meditation aspect is most wonderful in creating inner silence.

Love,
patri

I also appreciate your approach and contributions jennyren - thank you.

I am not known for my speediness. I like to live with the text in bite sized portions before going on to the next paragraph. I feel I have to race through now to get to the end of the chapter. Is it just me?

Thank you Jennyren too

It is funny but I share John Ralph's sentiments. I am moving slowly but surely. It is the "but surely" part that makes me so delighted. I find myself rereading chapter 1 a lot.

Slowly but Surely

That's certainly my approach too...  I think I'm really way back somewhere in Chapter 1 at least as far as sharing in this group is concerned!
