Before we go to chapter two which deals with the different stages of initiation, we take one final look at chapter one...to be sure we must have the foundation firm before building further....

                         someone may say something to hurt or anger us, normally we would react, but now we are on the esoteric path we can remove the sting before it reaches us.....impatience also should be a thing of the past...........our higher self is evolving.

                       as esoteric students we ourselves must give birth to a new higher being.The higher self must become our inner ruler.

                               Quiet contemplation must become a necessity of life.

                                meditation makes us strong for life.

                     What we are talking about is the spiritual science which Rudolf Steiner developed whichoffers us specific methods which are discussed in this book, onhow to develop spiritual ears and eyes.

                                        and while we are practising these spiritual excercises we are at the same time kindling our spiritual light.

                               the three stages in this method of spiritual schooling are;

                                        preparation, illumination and initiation all of which are in the rest of this book we are studying.
