do you feel a sense of devotion? still chapter one.

Submitted by jennyren on Mon, 08/06/2007 - 12:31am.

I need to ask everyone on this course......for a bit of feedback....have you created a focal point for devotion?do you feel a sense of devotion? are you practising any meditation already? sounds as if some people have been on the path for long, others are new, so its nice to see all the different perspectives and learn from one another.

I am going to conclude chapter one this week and begin chapter 2 on friday.just so that you know.

so this is a good time for any questions about chapter one.

have a good week..............I had a beautiful experience to see my first grandson who was born on friday 03 august at 9a.m.................that is certainly something to be in awe of....new life.who is this soul? what were his previous incarnations? what is he doing back on this crazy planet? you look at this tiny perfect little human being and it just seems a mystery and a miracle at once.

Sense of devotion. Answers to questions.

Jennyren,

Here are some answers to your questions from a new one on the path.

Have you created a focal point for devotion?

Not yet. I am looking for a spot in the house where I have room and can be undisturbed.

Do you feel a sense of devotion?

Sometimes. More than I did before starting on this path. It is a struggle, especially when I am tired. But I am heading in the right direction I think.

Are you practising any meditation already?

I just received Verses & Meditations in the mail today. I am reading the introduction and looking at the verses for a meditation that connects on some level with me.

Devotion yes?

Hi jennyren,

I did create a little devotion place separate from my regular meditation place.  Is it working?  Well sometimes.  I'm really working with what devotion really means for me, but each time I look at my devotion space, I am reminded to think about same, so that is good.

Congratualations on your beautiful grandchild.

Love,
patri

Devotion

Devotion is to me..

A mood of soul

An anchor of certainty in the hurly-burly of everyday life

Something that lifts me above the everyday

That which I look at when I am looking past something

Something to be cultivated... a garden in the soul

A gift of lifetimes
