Some background for those who may want to join in and participate in this on-line conversation group about America, now being offered as part of the Philosophy of Freedom website community...
Most everyone today recognizes the terrible power being exercised in the World by the American Government, and its Corporations and Banks. Coupled with the same aristocracies of wealth and power in England (and a few from Europe), the machinations of these Lords of Finance seems to make of the peoples of the World mere pawns in a grand game of chess. From where comes this power? Why is it dominating the world of today?
If we reach beneath the surface, and struggle to see through the maya of history and world events, is there something more? Is there Mystery at the roots of America? Why did Steiner speak the way he did about America?

Since Carl Stegmann, one of the original Christian Community Priests, retired to America at age 70 (in 1970) and wrote his remarkable The Other America: the Western World in the Light of Spiritual Science (and other texts), various American anthroposophists have began deep research into the Mysteries of the American Soul and Spirit.
